Privacy

Privacy policy

Your numbers never leave your device. Every calculator on Maineblock runs entirely in your browser. We do not collect, transmit, or store anything you type into a tool.

What we do not collect

No accounts. Nothing you type into a tool is collected, transmitted, or stored, so there is nothing to breach.

Email list

If you join the email list or request the cheat sheet, your address is collected by a form on this site and stored in Maineblock's own database. The cheat sheet itself is delivered by email through Resend. The newsletter is published through Substack: to send it, subscriber addresses are transferred to Substack. No Substack forms or embeds run on this site. Unsubscribe anytime; your address is never sold.

Cookies

Maineblock sets no cookies of its own.

Advertising

Advertising keeps Maineblock free. Some pages include ad units from Google AdSense. Google may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Maineblock does not control the ads Google serves.

Contact

Questions: use the contact details on the about page.

Survey

The Maine Mood survey collects answers anonymously. To keep results trustworthy, the survey runs a Cloudflare security check before accepting a response, and stores a salted one-way hash of the network address (never the address itself) to limit duplicate responses. A small flag in your browser’s local storage notes that you already voted this month. Survey answers are never connected to your identity.

Comments

If you leave a comment on a guide, the name and comment you enter are published on that page after review. Approval is not permanent: an approved comment can be deleted later. You may ask for your own comment to be removed at any time through the contact details on the about page, and Maineblock may remove a comment after approval. Deleting a comment also removes its replies. To prevent abuse, comments run a Cloudflare security check before they are accepted, and we store a one-way hash of your network address (never the address itself) to limit spam. Comment information is never sold or shared.
